Vol 2. No 11 – Steve Babaeko

When he arrived in Lagos from Kaduna, he had just five hundred naira in his pocket, no place to stay or where the next meal was going to come from. But he had something that surpassed his worse moment—the strong desire to get into advertising. From that very moment he packed his bags and set out for Lagos, his desire was to jump into the bandwagon that would convey him to the shark-eat-shark world of advertising. After a terrible night of sharing a room with a chef he barely knew, he got up in the morning with the intention of visiting some advertising agencies. The god of luck directed him to an advertising guru who was moved by his too-good-to-be-true story and desire to succeed in the industry. This stranger who would later become his employer and managing director offered him a job and gave him some money for his upkeep. That day marked the beginning of his journey into the world of advertising.
